Last year we were witness to two new shows on the box. AMC's hit The Walking Dead and the V remake, starring Firefly and SG-1 favourite Morena Baccarin. AMC's product has had the better run of it, securing for itself a second season of thirteen episodes, likely to cover a fair few of the comic books which spawned it, whilst V's second season has been cut short to nine episodes. We've got our fingers crossed that it won't face the axe, as, slow to get going as it's been, it's been an enjoyable watch so far. The characters are irritating at times, some of the sub plots have outright stunk, but all in all it's still worth taking a look at. If you get a chance to take a look and can ignore the hammy acting (if it helps, many of the hammiest actors get killed off, ahem...) then give it a look. It'll give you something to keep you occupied until Falling Skies appears, if it ever does.

The Walking Dead on the other hand has no chance of getting cancelled (Please gods of Television, don't cancel it), with it's basing in a strong series of comics, fine acting from Andrew Lincoln and episodes rich in gritty realism. This is less a show about Zombies and more a look at how people get along in extreme circumstances. It's like the movie of the Road, with less whining and more Zombies.

Season Two could see the introduction of a number of story lines we've read and enjoyed. Those of you who have read the books might notice (Spoiler alert) that Shane was still alive when the survivors moved camp. Not quite in fitting with the canon but let's hope that Frank Darabont has some tricks up his sleeve. We've got a few extra characters alive that shouldn't be for too much longer, a few that are outliving their welcome and one or two about to come in (fingers crossed for the  home wrecking, Zombie slaying, slightly crazy Michonne). If you want to see a Zombie based show that's guaranteed not to get cancelled (please don't jinx it), with movie quality action, direction and filming which can only keep getting better and better, then check it out. Snipe promises you won't be disappointed, or double your money back.
